Having played the Eagle and Hind in the
summer league and won comfortably both times the Tulip ‘C’ team were confident
of another win today. However an easy game was not what the E&H had in
mind. Ian won the opening frame before leaving early due to major toothache and
Waspy made it 2-0 shortly after. But Pete and Craig both crashed to unlikely
defeats before Gordon was gifted the fifth when his opponent fouled the black. A
loss for skipper Mike kept the Eagle & Hind in the fight but Trevor came to
the rescue to put the travelling side on the brink of victory. But Tam couldn’t
provide that victory! And the scores sat at 4-4.
Cue the return of Peter!
2 Season ago Peter was unable to cement
a regular place in the Tulip ‘C’ side and decided to call it a day. But with
the Tulip ‘C’ being a player short with Rob away in Spain and Glenn & MJ
working, Waspy gave him a call and talked him out of retirement! Thank god he
did!! Peter played the frame of his life and it’s the Tulip ‘C’ who progress to
the 2nd round!
