ESSEX
TROPHY RND 2
HOME
WOOLPACK
‘B’
With
a successful season in the league over & a disappointing Divisional cup, it
was back to business in the Essex trophy 2nd round for the Tulip ‘C’
side. Being positioned at the top half
of the bottom section of the draw means most games for the Tulip ‘C’ team will
be played at home and the first of these matches were against lower division
opposition in the guise of the Woolpack ‘B’.
Although
it has been over a month since their last match the home side showed very
little signs of being table rusty. Waspy
opened the scoring in a frame that could have gone either way. MJ doubling the
lead & Ian making it 3-0, both frames won comfortably. Craig made it 4-0
before Gordon became the 1st and only loss of the night for the home
side. Tam was on fire for a man who hasn’t had a game for the Tulip side in the
past few matches but certainly showed he is still a classy player. Trevor finished the job beating the same
player he knocked out of the quarter finals of the Open Singles competition
last Thursday. With the match already
won the rest of the frames weren’t played and the Tulip side went through to
round 3.
FINAL SCORE
TULIP ‘C’ 6 - 1
WOOLPACK ‘B’
