Following last week’s postponement, the
team was keen to get back playing pool. The opposition was to be one of our nemesis, the former Boreham Social Club now playing out of
the Black Bull. The battle was going to be somewhat challenging as we realised
that we would only have 6 players, therefore starting 2 – 0 behind.
Despite the best efforts of the team on
the night we only managed to win 4 of the 9 frames played. What a difference
the extra 2 players may have made! The wins went to Gordon and Trevor in the
singles, and the doubles pairings of Trevor & Mike and Andy & Pete.
Trevor recorded his first 8 ball clearance in the singles in his first visit.
He also cleared the balls in his and Mike’s first visit in the doubles although
2 balls had already been potted by the opposition.
Let’s hope we can field a full team
next week when we play host to The Bell.
