BOREHAM SOCIAL CLUB

A match that really wasn’t going to make any real difference to the overall standing in the league table, saw the Boreham social club travel to the Tulip. The only past meeting between these 2 teams saw the Tulip ‘C’s annihilation at the hands of the very impressive Boreham side. What this match up does have possible consequences for is next week’s meeting between the 2 teams once again at the Tulip in the Premier A Divisional cup.

Glenn started the night off with a loss before wins from Waspy, MJ & Jamie gave the home side a decent lead.  Craig again should have won his frame but some uncharacteristic missed pots made his opponent the happier of the 2 players.  Ian’s form seems to be improving at last and he was always in control.  But the scores were level at the end of the singles after Gordon missed a sitter of a chance to win and Mike failed to capitalise on his opponent inability to pot the black until his third attempt. 4-4.

Ian & Craig won by default after their opponent attempted a pot on his yellow but succeeded in downing the black after Ian had failed in his bit to make it 2 breaks in a row & keeping the white on the table!

Trevor & MJ won the match for the home side in the 2nd doubles before Waspy & Glenn wrapped up the night with a win to give the Tulip side the psychological edge for next week’s cup match.
