CHELMSFORD CITY SOCIAL CLUB
With the season drawing to a close the
Tulip ‘C’ team are fast becoming the favourites to take the title. A current league table is unavailable but
with the trouncing of the Blue Lion 3 weeks ago 11-1, and a draw against the
Tulip Allstars last week it is estimated that a 5-10
point lead has been established between the 2 Tulip teams. A big result for the Tulip ‘C’ tonight could
well give them a comfortable lead with both teams having just one more match to
play.
Having beaten the Chelmsford City
Social club previously the Tulip ‘C’ team were confident of a high scoring
win. It was confidence well founded
after the first 2 singles and 45’s with MJ & Ian
both winning their games & Trevor and Mike cruising to a 45-23 win in the
45’s. Trevor racked up a nice 31 points
and Mike 12 including 1 foul. 4-0.
The opening rout continued with Waspy making hard work of his frame but eventually sinking
the black. Glenn however gave the
travelling side their first point who after looking
comfortable to win, watched as his opponent made an easy clearance look hard
but still took the point. 5-1.
The win was secured by Glenn & Waspy however with a one sided game of 45’s, Waspy cruising to 30 points & Glenn making the other 13
before their opponents really got into the game! 7-1.
Mike also comfortably won his singles
but Trevor was unlucky when he jawed the black after an audacious attempt at a
double, his opponent was grateful for the easy pot Trevor had left him. 8-2.
The remaining 2 points were wrapped up
by MJ & Ian who came through fairly easily despite a shaky start with MJ
making 14 & Ian 19 after deductions. On the other table the Tulip Allstars made hard work of beating the Red Lion 8-4.
