THE FLYER B
The Tulip Cs last outing ended in a victory and
we looked to continue that form in our latest clash with The Flyer B, a team
we seem to run close but fail to beat. Well unfortunately the record will
remain poor viewing as once again we failed to overcome The Flyer B. Things
started poorly when we entered the pub only to find we had been kicked of our
home table because of a darts match!! The tables themselves are not so
dissimilar however little things do upset some players. Furthermore, one or two
players may well have still been a tad jaded from their jaunt to Great Yarmouth
over the weekend.
Excuses apart the Flyer B were
simply clinical. In three of the frames, the travelling side just took their
chances before our player really got going. In Gordons frame he was unlucky to
see the cue ball disappear into a corner pocket after potting
the black, and Trevor nearly cleared the table but failed to make a corner
pocket double on his last ball. He never got another realistic chance. The
Flyer B raced to a 5 0 win and were out of the door even before the food
had been brought out. Losses on the night were (in playing order) Andy, Waspy,
Trevor, Craig and Gordon.
That leaves just the Essex Trophy to play for and
we must just accept that we run in to a quality side that was playing pretty
close to their A game.
