Interleague week 4 – 26/07/2009 |
|
Chelmsford suffered their first league defeat on Sunday, at home to Barking Phoenix.
With both teams missing players, Barking started the better and were 2-7 up after the first set. A mini revival in the second set and a good start in the third saw Chelmsford reduce the lead to 11-12. Unfortunately that is when the wheels fell off proceedings as Barking took the last 4 frames, and the last set 7-2, for a 13-23 win. The match was played in good spirit and an enjoyable evening was had.
Final score to Barking Phoenix 24-12
Andy and Trevor both scored 2 out of 4. |

Chelmsford travelled to Mrpools and suffered their 2nd league defeat in succession, this time to CWPL ‘B’.
Having only 8 players to field, and with the holiday season and V festival claiming a few first teamers, Chelmsford started the evening effectively 4 frames down. The 1st session didn’t get any better with Trevor getting the only point for Chelmsford in an 8-1 loss. Sessions 2 and 3 were slight improvements with 6-3 losses and the final session finally going Chelmsford’s way as we chalked up a 5-4 win.
Final score to CWPL ‘B’ 24-12
Andy and Trevor both scored 2 out of 4. |

Interleague week 5 – 23/08/2009 |

With the new winter season starting on September 14th, the new fixture list has been published at www.chelmsfordpoolleague.co.uk.
Tulip ’C’ are one of eight teams who will be playing on the 1st week as they have been drawn in the Essex Cup 1st round at home to Woolpack ’A’. Not counting any chickens but should we get through that tough fixture we will again play at home to The Black Bull ’B’ the following week.
Week 3 sees us start our Divisional Cup defence away to Q Ball ’A’, with league action getting underway on the 5th October with another hard match against Woolpack ’A’, this time at their place .
Full Tulip ‘C’ fixtures can be found here. |

The Summer league finished last Wednesday with The Tulip ’C’ team finishing the season with a win at the Oddfellows. In a season that ended with 12 wins, 1 draw and a loss, the team managed 2nd place finishing 4 points behind eventual winners Chelmsford Pool Club ’A’. If we look back we can probably look at first place being relinquished in the first half of the season with the 10-2 loss, probably our worst individual performances of the season to the CPC ‘A’, and a surprising draw at home against Division Two strugglers The Oddfellows where the last 45’s had to be declared as a draw because of closing time, and with Ian and Craig only needing 1 more point to win the game. Hopefully we can go one better next Summer, but first we have the tough challenge of the winter league to get through.
Div 2 Summer results can be found here.

Interleague week 7 – 25/10/2009 |

With a top four finish now impossible due to Braintree’s no show at CWPL ‘B’ the match had no real significance and was just about finishing the season with a win. With Harlow this months visitor’s to Chelmsford and a player short, the chances looked good and as it turned out true to form.
With Harlow conceding a frame each session, the scores were 6-3, 8-1, 6-3 and 8-1, with the final score to Chelmsford 28-8.
Andy scoring 3 out of 4 and Trevor getting 4 out of 4. |
